Private Wine Tours
Your Wine-venture Begins Here
Come Fall In Love With Mexican Wine and Baja Culture

We only visit boutique wineries that consistently produce high quality award winning wines and where I personally buy wine. I don't believe it is fair to ask anyone else to be excited about or purchase wine that I am not willing to spend my own money on.

Discover The Best Kept Secret In Baja

Three of our favorite award winning wineries that honor the terroir and grape above all else include Vinicola Retorno, El Corcho Rosa, and Viña de Frannes. Adrian Garcia at Vinicola Retorno is one of two winemakers who works exclusively with dry farmed grapes and he is also a professor of gastronomy and enology at the university in Ensenada. El Corcho Rosa is the hip tasting bar of woman winemaker Sitara Perez who was recently featured in Mexico's Playboy and Gourmet magazines as the best kept secret in the valley. Then for an estate winery we were thinking about Viña de Frannes by legendary winemaker Ernesto Camou in collaboration with Michel Rolland to create Mexico's first 100 point wines. Every one of his wines that has been entered into international competitions has come back with a gold or great gold medal even up against the world's best wines.

Taste Wine In The Oldest Wine Region In The Western Hemisphere

This will give a broad range to sample all the various styles we're playing around with here in Mexico. We'll get to sample a few whites, a couple dry rosés, some young fresh and fruits reds as well as some big bold and sophisticated reds. From a luscious tropical Sauvignon Blanc from 90 year old vines with notes of fresh pineapple, guava, and starfruit to a bold 100% Grenache with 18 months in mixed barrels with notes of dried blueberry, maple syrup, dark chocolate and cured tobacco to a dry Moscato with intoxicating aromas of jasmine and honeydew melon that transform into nectarine, apricot, and honey on the palate. These are three of the best wineries in Mexico and make a perfect introduction to Mexico's 500+ years of winemaking history. I buy these wines and when I take out winemakers these are three places I always want to take them.

We Specialize In Private Behind-The-Scenes Tours Of Boutique Wineries Off The Beaten Path

On my tours we look at over 500 years of winemaking history in Mexico, talk about ancient and modern vinification methods, get to see the winemaking process and learn how grapes are transformed into a nectar from the gods, and really connect the wine in the glass with our unique terroir and the people who make it. We don't just drop you off at each winery. I talk about the property, the winery, share inside stories about the winemaker some of which their staff doesn't even know, introduce you to new friends, and we taste the wine with you so we have the opportunity to discuss what we smell, taste, and feel on the palate to enrich your tasting experience. I'm also available for any questions no matter how technical. We can be as in depth and technical as you want or not. We do our best to help you meet and exceed your wine knowledge expectations. By the end of our tours our goal is for our guests to feel like they've made new friends, discovered new favorite wines, and fallen in love with our incredible wine valley.
